Noise Exposure Map (NEM) Update

The Noise Exposure Map documents the airport layout and operation, aircraft related noise exposure and land uses surrounding the airport. The current update will look at aircraft noise exposure for the years 2018 and 2023.  The current FAA approved 2015 NEM  represent calendar years 2015 and 2020 conditions.

The airport is home to the Vermont Air National Guard (ANG) 158th Fighter Wing, which currently flies F-16s. The United States Air Force (USAF) prepared the F-35A Operational Basing Final Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and later issued a Record of Decision (ROD).

According to a USAF April 2016 press release, ANG is anticipated to start flying the F-35A in fall 2019. To account for the change in the anticipated ANG operations, the Airport is updating the NEM to reflect existing aircraft operations, including updated aviation forecast with ANG F-35A aircraft, and current land uses.
